Flower Therapy & The Beautiful Art of Pressing Flowers
Flower Therapy & The Art of Pressing Flowers:
Okay, so you did not know that your grandmother was practicing the art of flower therapy years ago when you watched her press flowers. Many years ago I discovered this beautiful form of flower therapy art. My husband and I had moved across country to Oregon and I was missing my family and friends.
One day on a nature hike my husband suggested that I pick the beautiful wildflowers and press them. I started to collect and press the wildflowers in a flower press after taking hikes. The simple act of walking in nature, picking flowers, and then pressing them helped me out of my homesickness. It was the beginning stage of my Flower Therapy training.
To this day I still pick flowers and press them as part of my flower therapy program. It makes me happy and gives me something to look forward to. I like to make flower therapy jewelry with my pressed flowers. I make them for friends and family. See more information on our "Flower Therapy Jewelry" page.
Anyone can also make beautiful flower therapy art with pressed flowers. You don't need an expensive flower press... just get a heavy book and press the flowers in it. So get out there and enjoy nature, pick a few flowers (Save some for others) and press some flowers to make your flower therapy art!
